I think the 100+ degree temperatures this summer have made me delirious to blog updates! :) Here are a few pictures from late May and June. Despite the heat and extremely dry conditions, it has been a memorable summer so far!!
Whitney and Tyler enjoying some dinner on the porch while their clothes dried out! Turns out Tyler's water "table" turned into a water "tub!"
Ring around the rosey with pal Mckenly! "Kenny" is my neighbor's granddaughter who is 2 months older than Whitney. She lives in Chicago, but comes to visit often, so Whitney is always thrilled when her buddy comes to town!
Family fun in the Smoky Mountains!! We had a great time with Ben's family on this trip in mid-June to Tennessee and, as you can see, family pictures are always entertaining! :) Never a dull moment with two 3-year-olds! My mother-in-law, Wendy, turns 60 in October, so this was an early family celebration.
We enjoyed some fun pool time in TN, too! The weather was perfect. Whitney was on the look-out for pirates and kept calling all of us "Matey!" She took swimming lessons the first week of June and we have had several opportunities to go swimming this summer which is helping build her aquatic confidence!
This picture was taken on Saturday morning, June 23rd, after Whitney's first night of slumber freedom! Yes, my child will be 4 in less than 2 months and she has been in her crib until this point!! Justification: 1) She has never (to our knowledge) tried to climb out. 2) She loves her bed and sleeps well. 3) We haven't had another use for the crib yet. 4) Ben and I value our sleep. :) After seeing how much Whitney enjoyed climbing into her friend Camila's toddler bed, I convinced Ben that it was time to convert Whitney's bed. She LOVES it, although she does get up earlier, which is what we kind of anticipated, but we are all adjusting to our new little grown-up girl!
Grammie and Pop were hoping to escape the sweltering southern heat during their late June visit, but found it right here in good ol' Indiana as we reached record breaking temps! So thankful for wonderful neighbors with pools!! Whitney had quite the giggles since Pop kept splashing and squirting her! And, speaking of turning 60--my mom celebrated the big 6-0 in June, so we enjoyed celebrating this milestone with her.
Keepin' it sylish by the poolside!
Hoping July brings more rain, cooler temps, and many more fun memories to share.....
