Cinco de Mayo!!!! Whitney has discovered one of my food loves...quesadillas! And, what better day to indulge than on May 5th at Riviera Maya! Whitney calls them "quesa-divas" which makes me think of some sassy little quesadilla. We love some of her meal-related terms. Her favorite snack is Goldfish or "gogi-ga-pishies" as she affectionately calls them. And, her favorite meal is breakfast or "breckist." Good stuff.Sunday, May 8, 2011
Good Stuff
May is a good month, full of good stuff. Here are a few things so far....
We kicked off May 1st with our 3rd and final March for Babies walk of the season! Our Columbus and Seymour teams have raised over $1,900 for babies so far this year!! This has been a very rewarding experience for our family.
On May 2nd, my dad turned 60!!!! I love this picture of him the first time he held Whitney in the NICU. He didn't bat a lash at turning 60. He's excited that he is that much closer to retirement now! I love that man. He is the stuff that good dad's are made of.

We had our "farewell" dinner with Grandma Carol on May 6th. Carol was Whitney's home health nurse who took care of her when we brought her home from the hospital. She stayed on to care for Whit up until last fall. Carol is moving to Houston, TX this month. She is one of the most caring people we know, whom we will always remember. She is never short on interesting dating stories that usually leave us gasping...and giggling. She is good people.
On May 7th, I celebrated another year of life (sorry, those number keys are broken on my computer!) and on May 8th, rounding out a week of good stuff, I celebrated my most important, long-awaited, fulfilling, and challenging role on this earth...being a mama. I love that girl and am so thankful that God has given us to each other.
