Whitney has had a major dietary breakthrough over the past 2 weeks...she can tolerate dairy now!! After her GI specialist diagnosed her with a milk protein allergy last summer, he recommended a strict 6 months with no form of milk or milk protein. We just reached the "trial" period this month, in which I was preparing for another afternoon-long barf-fest, when much to my delight, she tolerated her trials of Pediasure with no ill-effects! We then went on to try regular yogurt, foods prepared with milk, cheese, etc. So far, so good! Whitney's gut appears to have received the additional healing it needed! Having to monitor her diet so closely certainly opened my eyes, as a nutrition professional and parent, to how stressful this can be for families and kiddos. And, we only had one food category to deal with. Our nephew, and a growing number of children, have multiple food allergies to contend with. We are definitely grateful for Whitney's outcome. And, well, who doesn't like to eat a little Play-Doh from time to time. The only problem is that Skylar is on a strict diet, due to some potential food allergies (go figure!) that might be causing her persistent itching and Whitney has already helped her blow the diet when they both decided to eat Play-Doh!
LOVE the bra picture!
