March Goodness

March has been a busy, crazy, fun-filled month!!  I started back to teaching my Nutrition night class the first week of the month although, according to my schedule, I wasn't supposed to start until the second week of the month.  However, I got a call from my boss at Ivy Tech while I was eating dinner on a Monday night asking me where I was!?  So, while I was home eating a burrito after work, my whole class was apparently wondering where in the heck I was!  Guess I had been given an outdated schedule!  Oops!  Minor hiccup aside, we are barreling through the 8-week semester!  Here are some other March happenings....

Tiny Whit is reaching high for her Dora kite flying above her (Ben is anchoring the kite)!  What awesome weather we have had!  Whitney was thrilled to fly her first kite on a particularly windy Sunday afternoon.

Oh, Skylar!  We have sworn off ever buying new couches while Skylar-luv is with us.  She is such a sofa snuggler.  Still our baby, too!

Fun in the sand (at the table of course) and sun at Grammie and Pop's house in Mississippi!  Whitney and I survived our second solo mother-daughter roadtrip to MS during Spring Break and enjoyed a fun week with Mom and Dad.  We even made it up to Tupelo to visit one of my good friends from college and stopped in Nashville to visit Brad, Blair, and Ella.

On March 20th, while we were in Mississippi, we celebrated the day that Whitney came home from the NICU after 7 months there!  It was the first day of Spring and has always been a special day to us!  And, Whitney never turns down an excuse for cupcakes!

Tyler and Whitney are seriously munching on Rice Krispie treats while anxiously waiting for "Dora Live!" to begin at Beef & Boards theatre in Indianapolis!

Meet and greet with "Dora" and "Boots"!  As usual, Whitney was a little petrified (looks like Boots was, too) of the characters up close, but really enjoyed the show!

We always knew our girl was pretty special, but now she is "spec"-tacular with her new glasses!  We went in for a routine check-up with Whitney's pediatric opthamologist 2 weeks ago and he thought it was definitely time for glasses.  He had been preparing us for this since her laser eye surgeries in the NICU, so this wasn't a big surprise.  We are in the "getting used to wearing the glasses" phase, so hopefully Whitney will do well with them.  And, in case you're wondering, she is standing beside "Whitney Flower" in her room.  This was one of her art projects at preschool and it was on display at her school art show a couple of weeks ago.  When I saw her proudly standing next to her life-size flower at school, my heart was so full and my eyes begin to tear-up.  I became so overwhelmed at that moment of just how far she has come and how much she has truly "bloomed".  So proud of my Whitney Claire!!
