Thankful

We made a trip to St. Vincent's NICU on Thanksgiving morning. There are memories that stretch from that parking lot, all the way to the 2nd floor NICU corridor, where a sign warns any potential visitors (in not so many words) to basically STAY AWAY if you have any number of symptoms that could potentially be fatal to such tiny, immune-compromised babies. Thankful is only the tip of the iceberg for me. Maybe immeasureably, immensely, infinitely thankful. God knows. Thank you for our girl and the wonderful, dedicated healthcare workers who give of themselves everyday, including holidays.

You'll see we have many other reasons to be thankful below:

Our pilgrim princess...with a little flare of leopard-print leggings!

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend with Grammie, Pop, Brad, Blair, and Ella at Montgomery Bell State Park in TN the weekend before Thanksgiving!

Thankful for grandparents who help entertain the kiddos while we "mysteriously" disappear!!

Love that smile, Ella!! :)

These girls cracked us up watching their portable DVD players together. Sometimes they were playing simultaneously with Yo Gabba Gabba and Go Diego Go! We are thankful for Nick Jr.!!

We spent the evening after Thanksgiving with our Whitaker/Colich/Keene/Gibson family in Indy! Grandma had a little Christmas tree for all of the kiddos to decorate!

When Grandpa wasn't putting on a rock concert for the kids with his guitar, he was entertaining them with pictures on his iPad!

Whitney being still for a moment to catch a picture with Aunt Libby!

Libby and her husband, Clay, just welcomed Lucy Abigail to the family last month! Isn't she sweet!? She even slept through Whitney's not-so-gentle head patting. :)

  1. I always enjoy your posts!!! So glad you could walk in and OUT on Thanksgiving Day with Whitney!!! What a nice gesture for you guys to go visit the nurses. Just curious, were there a lot of little ones there? Whitney is growing so fast! Need to have our lunch sometime when I'm not so tired needing a nap. :)
